So, I haven't Posted a journal for a while. I have just been busy with other things. But I think I can take a break for a little bit and just write, rant, and inform.

Rant:
I haven't really been on a good rant for a while. I have actually been planning on it for a while, but like stated above I cannot find the time. If you are easily offended or can't stand complaining please skin to 'inform'.
Rant A) Microsoft vs. Apple. To clear it up in the first (or second, that is) sentance, I am a proud WINDOWS USER. I have been on a windows machine since at least the age of 5. MS paint was my best friend. I have been with windows for a long time, and we have really grown on eachother. I had never even heard of Apple until I had a Seventh Grade computer tech class. My teacher was stict apple, always dogging on Windows and how horrible he was, though he could never really back himself up on why.
One of the main reasons I hate apple: You know those kids at school that pick on others to make themselves feel better about themselves? I associate them with the Apple Company. I guarentee almost everbody who reads this (the few) can say they have seen Mac vs PC commercials. Honestly can apple not point out their good qualities WITHOUT having to compare themselves to Windows? It seems that the only way apple can make themselves look good is by putting others down. It is quite sad really.
There is NOTHING wrong with the Macintosh operating system. I actually enjoy it and if I had a copy of Leopard I promise I would use it. But it's not the OS that I disslike, just the company that owns it. Its really hard to use a machine that I know comes from apple. When I know how BIG HEADED they are. I have never heard Microsoft trying to put apple down with insults or comparisans. I really wish apple would get over themselves, quit comparing to windows and just get on with developement. Maybe spend a little effort trying to come up with something OTHER than just another generation of ipod.
Rant B) FBLA State Competition. Just a few weeks ago I attended the Future Business Leaders of America state competition in Salt Lake City, Utah. It was a big event and our chapter had TONS of fun. We pulled a prank on the girls' room three floors above us by litterally turning their room upside down and stealing their matresses. It was really funny so see our group of guys running down 3 flights of stairs with four giant mattresses. But that is beside the point. For my only competition we had to present our e-commerce Website proposition (thats not the right word....). We had spent months and a lot of hard work and money into designing our website. When we showed up there was only one group competing against us. We had already seen their website and I have to say, it really is not good from a design standpoint (you can see it HERE). We where posetive we had it. We presented a WONDERFUL presentation and the judges said we exceeded their expectations. We walked away with our heads held high.
As you may have guessed, we lost. In fact, out of a score of 400 we averaged 256/400, almost HALF. Appearently we had compatibility issues (though we checked it with every brower, resolution, and OS we possibly could), Our design wasn't fluent and attractive (personally I really liked it, I designed it though), We had broken links (we tested every link at least ten times), and a lot of other stuff I don't feel like typing. All I have to ask is, WHY!?
